Climbers Bivouac at 0500 and wear tennis shoes with good tread instead of bulky hiking boots. Please
see your physician for a medical evaluation before attempting this venture. You should also identify with
the locations of Mount Adams and Mount Hood as these will be clues and compass bearings.

Clue: Continuing towards the summit from letterbox #2 on Monitor Ridge notice wood post vertical stuck in the ground marking the trail. This letterbox is hidden at the next to last post hiking towards the summit. ( the last post is vertical by means of support by piled rocks, it may not be vertical if support is destroyed by hikers). Take compass reading at each post towards the summit to verified you have arrived at the right one. Your compass readings will be the following when you have reached the letterbox:
